
Heather La Forge, Ph.D.
I am a San Diego based Acting Coach and Director. In addition to my individual work, I am also the co-founder and Artistic Director of Groundworks Theatre. I hold a Ph.D. in Theatre from UC San Diego, where I taught theatre history, theory, performance, film, and writing courses and won an Excellence in Teaching Award. Additionally, I am published in the theatre field and have presented at conferences both in the US and Ireland. I have worked with multiple theatre organizations throughout my career as an Acting and Public Speaking Coach, Director, Dramaturg, Education Director, Educator, and more. My directing experience includes As You Like It, Lovers (winners), Sisters on the Ground, Radium Girls, The Laramie Project, The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Matilda, Tuck Everlasting, All My Sons, The Freedom of the City, The Addams Family, A Piece of My Heart and many more. In 2023, I also served as the Dramaturg and Assistant Director on New Village Arts’ production of The Ferryman, which was the first production of the Tony Award Winning Show outside of Broadway and London. I am passionate about challenging performers to grow in their craft as they aim to become strong theatre artists.
